It's good to see Tony actually apologising to the public for the times when he felt he let them down.
You wouldn't see John Winston Howard apologise for any policy failures...

My analysis. Iraq aside New Labour has done a pretty good job.
Whether or not they have managed to deliver on their promise, I think only time will tell.
But Blair almost single handedly managed to shift the politics in Britain away from Thatcherism. He has to be applauded for this dramatic change of course.
Even the Tories have to appear to be New Labour in order to get elected now. At the next national election David Cameron will have to try and persuade the electorate that he is more of a Blairite than Gordon Brown.
